Beyoncé and Jay-Z Announce 9-Track Joint Album ‘Everything Is Love’

After being rumored for years, it has finally come true—a joint Beyoncé and Jay-Z album entitled “Everything Is Love.” Tidal, the rapper’s music streaming company, surprise-dropped the album that features nine tracks, each credited to Beyoncé and Jay-Z or simply the Carters. “Everything Is Love” clocks under 40 minutes, something that’s a bit unusual for both artists because it is so brief. On the bright side, there is a bonus track available on Tidal called “Salud.” The song didn’t make it to the album as both artists felt it didn’t fit “Everything Is Love’s” sequence.

Details about “Everything Is Love” began to trickle out Sunday afternoon after images of the album started to make rounds on social media. An Instagram post shared by Beyoncé garnered nearly 200,000 likes in less than 20 minutes, proving that Queen Bey still got it.

A music video was later released for the song “APES,” directed by Ricky Saiz and filmed at the Louvre in Paris just last month. It features Beyoncé and Jay-Z posing in various settings while delivering their lines in front of centuries-old masterpieces like the Mona Lisa. The video also shows dancers prancing around in front of famous paintings, and Jay-Z taking shots at the Grammys and the Super Bowl in his verses.

After Beyoncé’s 2016 album “Lemonade” sparked discussions of Jay-Z’s infidelity, the album seems to work as the last installment of the marriage trilogy that reaches a happy ending, hence, the title “Everything Is Love.” The album contains visuals, lyrics, and a shared musical spotlight between the couple that not only shows a happy and equal marriage but also overcomes their struggles and coming out stronger. As the lyrics to the album’s last track, “Lovehappy” happy puts it, “we came, and we saw, and we conquered it all. We came, and we conquered, now we’re happy in love.”
