'X-Men' Director Bryan Singer Sued for Allegedly Raping Teenager in 2003

“X-Men” franchise director and former “Bohemian Rhapsody” helmer is being sued for raping a 17-year-old boy in 2003, according to a press release by Herman Law. A document detailing the incidents in the lawsuit was also released.
According to the suit, Cesar Sanchez-Guzman was sexually abused by Singer at a yacht party hosted by Lester Waters in 2003. “At the party, he met Defendant Bryan Singer, who offered to give Cesar a tour of the yacht,” the lawsuit said. “During this tour, Bryan Singer lured Cesar into a room, shut the door and demanded that Cesar perform oral sex.” Sanchez-Guzman refused, and this is where Singer allegedly forced himself into him.
The suit narrates the situation in more detail, including an instance where Singer threw Cesar on to the bed, forcing himself inside of the boy. After the incident, Singer then told Cesar that he was a producer in Hollywood and that he can help Cesar “get into acting as long as Cesar never said anything about the incident.” Singer also allegedly told him that no one would believe him if he did come out.
The lawsuit further states that “the sexual abuse has caused Cesar to experience severe psychological, mental and emotional injuries, shame, humiliation and loss of enjoyment of life. These injuries are persistent, permanent and debilitating in nature. Cesar did not discover the causal connection between the sexual assault and his injuries for which this claim is brought.”

Bryan Singer responds to rape allegation

The director’s representative released a statement to PEOPLE, and further states that Singer “categorically denies” the allegation and that it’s a “convenient” scapegoat by Sanchez-Guzman. “Bryan categorically denies these allegations and will vehemently defend this lawsuit to the very end,” the statement said. “Cesar Sanchez-Guzman apparently claims that he did not remember this alleged incident from 2003 until now. Significantly, when Sanchez-Guzman filed for bankruptcy only a few years ago, he failed to disclose this alleged claim when he was supposed to identify all of his assets, but conveniently, now that the bankruptcy court discharged all of his debts, he is able to recall the alleged events.”
Recently, Singer was fired from the set of Queen biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” due to the director’s “unexpected unavailability,” which was later confirmed by Singer as him prioritizing the health of his parent over the production.
