Jordan Elsass & Alexander Garfin Cast as Kent Sons in The CW's 'Superman & Lois'

The CW’s Superman & Lois drama focusing on the Man of Steel and Lois Lane’s adventures is shaping up to be a very interesting Arrowverse entry. Kent sons Jonathan and Jordan are making their small screen debut as Jordan Elsass and Alexander Garfin are set to play them respectively.

Tyler Hoechlin will reprise his role as Clark Kent/Superman with Elizabeth Tulloch as Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane. Jonathan and Jordan are believed to be twins. In the comics, Jonathan is known as Superboy, a noble kid who aspires to be very much like his father. In Brian Michael Bendis’ current Superman comic book run, Jon left the present timeline of Earth to join the Legion of Superheroes a couple of years further into the future. He’s also very close to Bruce Wayne’s son (and current Robin in the comics), Damian.

Character descriptions for Jonathan and Jordan Kent were also released, with the former described as a “clean-cut, modest and kind-hearted, with an aw-shucks attitude that somehow doesn’t seem dated.” Jordan, on the other hand, is “wildly intelligent, but his mercurial temperament and social anxiety [limit] his interactions with people, and consequently, Jordan prefers to spend most of his free time alone, playing video games.”

The logline for Superman & Lois reads, “The world’s most famous superhero (Hoechlin) and comic books’ most famous journalist (Tulloch) deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.” Lois Lane was revealed to be pregnant with Jon during last season’s Arrowverse crossover, Elseworlds. When Crisis on Infinite Earths happened, Clark, Lois, and their son were wiped out of existence by the Anti-Monitor. When The Flash, Supergirl, and the Arrowverse’s version of the Justice League were able to reset the timeline, things came back to normal—but with a few significant changes. From only having one kid, Lois and Clark now have another one in the family in the form of Jordan Kent.

Superman & Lois comes from a script written by Todd Helbing, who will also serve as the show’s executive producer. The new DC Comics series also joins the new Arrow spinoff in development centered on Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak’s daughter, Mia Smoak, as one of the members of the new Team Arrow.
