Justin Long, Johnny Galecki, and Juliette Lewis joins ‘The Conners’

Months after ABC announced The Conners spinoff, three actors join the show’s cast. Justin Long, known for Live Free or Die Hard (2007), Johnny Galecki, who is Sara Gilbert’s character, Darlene Conners’ ex-husband David Healy, and Juliette Lewis, known for August: Osage County (2013) have recurring roles in the spinoff.

The previous show, Roseanne‘s cancellation happened after Roseanne Barr sent out a racist tweet that gained many adverse reactions. However, the show’s cast wanted the show to go on. Still, it had to bear a different name, hence the creation of the spinoff.

According to an article from TheWrap, Justin’s character will be Sara Gilbert’s new love interest, Neil. Also, Juliette will be playing David’s new girlfriend, Blue. Johnny’s character, David, returned to Roseanne’s revival in one episode, Darlene v. David, where Darlene reevaluates her relationship with him. However, the recent casting news seems to have changed their relationship’s direction.

Post-Roseanne

ABC released the show’s first full promo, where the family prepares for the holidays without Roseanne. Also, the first episode of the series, titled ‘Keep On Truckin’ starts with how the family deals with the ‘sudden turn of events.’ In addition to this, the family will have to ‘face the daily struggles of life in Landford like never before.’

The Conners premieres Tuesday, October 16th, at 8/9c on ABC.
