Kit Harrington Reveals Sibling Rivalry Between Sansa Stark And A 'Really Different' Game of Thrones Season 7

For being the only two Starks that are physically together, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) and Sansa (Sophie Turner) appear to be on both ends of a great distance. That is, on the upcoming season 7 of “Game of Thrones” about two weeks away.

While both of them have the same goal of defeating Ramsay Bolton and to regain Winterfell, it’s all still a matter of power struggle. Especially now that Jon Snow has become the new King of the North—praised and respected by his people. Unlike Sansa, who is still the sidekick. And this is where human emotions like greed kick in.

Kit Harrington reveals impending Sibling Rivalry between Sansa and Jon Snow in upcoming Season 7 of Game of Thrones

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, actor Kit Harrington mentions a ‘definite tension’ between the two siblings. He says, “There is definite tension between them right from the first scene. There are the same problems — she questions his decisions and command; he doesn’t listen to her. But as far as where that goes or takes them or how dark it can get, we’ll see. It gets past sibling squabbling, it gets into two people power struggling.”

As much as camaraderie should be held on tight to in times like these, it seems as if stubborn selfishness overrides logic. Come to think of it, the “Game of Thrones” theme does navigate around the need for the human flesh to serve oneself over others. And Sansa Stark falls victim to this need. With a sinister foolhardy character like Littlefinger not too far from her, she’s steps away from falling into the pit.

Meanwhile, Jon Snow grows more confident, with a big chunk of candor and wisdom shaped from his work on the Wall. Luckily for him, he’s got ample experience for keeping his feet steady and making smart decisions.

A self-assured king and an even more self-assured sister? Sounds like one big sibling rivalry coming up for “Game of Thrones” Season 7.

‘Really different’ season 7 of Game of Thrones

On the interview, Kit Harrington also hints more roles and possibly more screen time for the characters. Other than that, he describes the upcoming Season 7 to be ‘really different’ because of the shortage of available episodes to air.

He says, “This season is really different than any other season because of the fewer episodes and everything accelerating toward the end. A lot of stuff collides and happens much much quicker than you’re used to seeing on Thrones — it was a plodding slow machine and it’s now turning into a thriller. It’s quite exciting how it ramps up speeds up toward a dangerous climax.”

Sounds exciting! Look out for “Game of Thrones” Season 7, July 16th on HBO.
